Pakistani entertainment fans may have another much-anticipated drama project to look forward to as new details have emerged about a collaboration between actor-producer Meera and acclaimed writer Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar.
The latest information was shared by film star Laila during a recent episode of the reality show Tamasha, where she discussed Meera’s current professional activities and revealed details about the project’s development.
Meera and Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar’s Upcoming Drama
According to Laila, Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar is writing a drama for Meera, who has reportedly been waiting for the script for around two years.
Laila claimed that Meera paid an advance to the writer, adding that the reported amount was around Rs. 1.5 crore. She explained that Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar is a busy writer and typically requires an advance before taking on a project.
The project, however, has not yet been completed.
Why Has the Drama Taken So Long?
Laila attributed the delay partly to Meera’s busy lifestyle and frequent travel between different countries.
She said Meera spends time in places including the United States and Dubai, making it difficult for her to consistently sit down with the writer and discuss the script.
According to Laila, developing a script with Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar requires the producer to give him sufficient time and remain involved in discussions about the story.
She also referred to actor and producer Humayun Saeed as an example of someone who gives the writer the time needed when working on a script.
