Anum Hussain has opened up about the editing process behind Zanjeerain, revealing that several scenes featuring the drama’s cast were shortened or removed before the final episodes aired.
The emerging actress, who plays Shahbano in the ongoing Pakistani drama, recently appeared on Nadia Khan’s morning show Rise and Shine. During the conversation, she was asked about reports that scenes from Zanjeerain had been deleted.
Anum confirmed that multiple scenes from the drama were indeed cut. However, she explained that she personally did not feel significantly affected by the editing.
Anum Hussain Explains What Happened to Her Scenes
According to Anum, her scenes were largely retained in the broadcast version, although some were shortened. She also noticed that certain dialogues she had recorded did not make it into the final episodes.
The actress shared that she had filmed an important scene several times, with different variations in her performance. Interestingly, the production eventually used her initial take.
Anum said she was unsure about the exact reason behind that particular editing choice, suggesting that the first version may simply have been considered the stronger performance.
Actress Says Cuts Were Not Made Deliberately
Anum also addressed the possibility that her scenes may have been removed at someone’s request. She said she did not believe the cuts were made deliberately or because someone demanded their removal.
Instead, she viewed the editing as part of the storytelling process and suggested that changes were likely made according to the needs of the drama.
Her comments offer a glimpse into how much material can change between filming and the final televised episode. Scenes may be shortened or removed during editing as the makers work to maintain the pace and structure of the story.
Anum Hussain’s Growing Television Presence
Anum Hussain is still relatively new to the Pakistani television industry but has already appeared in notable projects. Before Zanjeerain, she was seen in ARY Digital’s Main Manto Nahi Hoon, where she played the class fellow of Sajal Aly’s character.
Her portrayal of Shahbano in Zanjeerain has further brought her into the spotlight as audiences continue to follow the drama and its characters.
For Anum, the experience also appears to have given her a practical perspective on television production. Rather than viewing every cut as a personal setback, she seems to understand that the final version of a drama can differ considerably from what actors record on set.
Her candid comments have now added another layer of insight into the making of Zanjeerain, particularly the editing decisions that audiences never get to see behind the scenes.
